The WEDDING MANIA'

It had been a tradition for most Chinese couples to set their wedding date beginning from the 8th of the Chinese Calender month till the end of the lunar year. These months I like term it the 'wedding mania' months.
This year 2008 particularly the number of wedding invitations had increased mainly because of the year 2008 is auspicious because it sounded in Cantonese as 'yee ting ting fatt' meaning easy to prosper. So..these significant dates would also prosper all those businesses in connected to wedding industries. Business like renting/making of wedding gowns, the beauty house, the photography and especially the restaurant businesses where the wedding dinner will be held. These food business are being fully booked very much earlier.Throughout now until year 2009 they are all taken up!!

Lives nowadays are hectic where humans barely able to spent time with their own families..whats not to visit distant relatives!!It is at these occasion where we are able to gather all of them together. While I have to agree that it is a joyful occasion to be able to attend and meet up and enjoy dinner together. Having said that, I also dread going to these dinner....It is the 'waiting' that I dislike most!! These wedding dinners are never...yeah never ever punctual. This is a very unhealthy and time wasting habits which needed to change for the benefits of everyone. However, this bad inconsiderate act of being late for wedding dinners never seems to get any better regardless of who the hosts is.

If only there is a certain type of clock-in time to counter check those who are the late comers...Like being left out or lock out once the time is up for dinner!! Nevertheless, it would be difficult when this would be considered arrogant and nasty thing to do...not to your circle of friends and relatives.

Perhaps, a more approachable method is to hire a cruise ship to set sailing when dinner time is up. Wouldn't this be nice kind of lavish dinner which included cruising when dinner is being served? This way whoever late will miss the boat!! It would remain a fantasy until and unless the host is really rich enough to provide such type of transportation to their guests...who are far away from the the coastal areas....
